As he dug through the boxes overflowing with $1 Hot Wheel cars, Clay Grantham, 10, was looking for Mustangs, his "favorite Chevy car" and anything else that caught his eye.

While local organizers prepared for thousands to visit Sunday to celebrate the Hot Wheels 40th anniversary, spectators were joining toy maker Mattel's caravan in Utah.
